Utilization of Tea Waste
Waste Potential
In the Eastern Black Sea Region alone, approximately 30 thousand tons of tea waste is produced annually on a dry basis. It is estimated that the total waste in the entire Black Sea region amounts to 150,000 tons.
Energy Value
Tea waste has a high heat energy value of 4000 k.cal. Using 50,000 tons of tea waste, an 8 megawatt power plant can be established.
Biochar Production
The dry and spongy structure of tea waste makes it an excellent raw material for both Biochar and organic NPK fertilizer production. It is the most suitable organic raw material for continuous production in biochar manufacturing.
Zero Waste Goal
All tea waste will be processed and contributed to the economy, achieving the zero waste goal and establishing a model green business in the tea industry.
